We often watch old films that were shot in New York and play a game where we "guess that location". It's a challenge as this is a town that is constantly evolving. Buildings go up, store fronts come and go but usually you can pick up something in the architecture that's a tip off. My husband usually wins. There is one location however that few people in the world wouldn't recognize, Times Square.
I'm picking up a few sets. I have a few parties coming up this summer and I think they'd make the perfect host/hostess gifts. While 2 of the hosts are ex-NYers the others just love the city like we do.

Thank you so much for stopping by and giving me such a sweet compliment. It made my day. You have quite an interesting blog! Can't wait to read more. I will have to add to my side bar. The pictures of your cats are superb! They are all sooo cute.
Thanks again!
Jennifer
I was a NYer for a little over a year (I will be gone 2 years this August), I worked in Midtown on 5th, but I lived in Westchester (Larchmont). I miss it so much every day - mostly the food and the proximity to so many fun and exciting things. I have so many friends there that I want to return for a visit very soon!
I worked in Midtown on Fifth! Do come back for a visit soon.
I love these! Thanks for posting them :) x
They would make FABULOUS gifts. Great idea! I've only been to NYC 3 times. It's was overwhelming every time. I've missed your blog...only out of town one night! What kind of sentimental pussy am I?!
Awwww...shucks!
I had a very dangerous location on 5th - right across the street from Lord & Taylor. Which meant that in the Summer Mr. Softee would park near L&T so I would look out the window and when the ice cream truck was there I would "run an errand". I would eat my ice cream and look at L&T's windows :o) Good times!!! I also ate many a lunch in Bryant Park on the beautiful Spring days - I really miss that!
Oh that was VERY dangerous indeed!
Lord & Taylor is one of my all time favorite stores. First off, most of the people that work there have been there for a million years and actually LIKE helping you and with the added bonus of no 'tude.
The other reason? They have the most massive sales! They put everything 50-70% off and then send you coupons!
Muawwww to L&T!
I also love NYC...I live in Canada and I've visited Manhattan, just for the shopping and pizza, of course! The closest thing we have to Manhattan is Toronto...Don't get me wrong...Toronto is beautifuL, but NYC...kicks butt!
