O.k., so technically Zorra's not a leopard but she is in the snow. My poor garden cats (that's fancy talk for ferals) are probably wondering if they're going to get a chance to thaw out and play in the grass ever again. 

At least she looks ever so chic in her black and white ensemble.

Can you even stand it? These little fuzzy angels (a.k.a. kittens) are being fostered by my friends. Today I had the most important task of helping to socializing them so they can be adopted out. Just how do you socialize a kitten? Basically you play with them! I know it was a rough gig but I made the sacrifice for the sake of the kittens.

Cattitude Adjustments

A lot of you have asked me how the cats adjusted to having a baby in the house. For the most part they couldn't care less. The only thing they seem to have gotten bent about is the fact that they've been barred from some bedrooms. These days I spend a lot of time looking at them from behind bars.(Lou)

Fortunately for them we still have the office or as they think of it "The Cat Room" with a bed that's dedicated just for them. That's where we find them all hanging out most of the time these days.(left to right Sophie, Lou, Paw-Paw and J-Kun)

Except for Cookie... (H.R.H. Cookie)

She has laid claim to a shelf in the old bathroom cabinet. None of the others dare to go in it. Cookie is the Queen and will order up their execution in a flash if she suspects one of them is even thinking about looking at her shelf. What makes this spot so special is that it's located right above the radiator (see the screen on the door below her?). It's her own personal sauna. When we finally get around to redoing the bathroom we're going to have to figure out some way to accommodate her special spa location.

For my decorator buddies who have no doubt noticed "something missing" from the photo of Lou behind bars- Yes, we have purchased the missing quarter round for the floorboards. Now we just need to get around to painting and installing them, and stripping and repainting the baseboards, and, and, and... sigh.

Gratuitous Cute- Cookie

Cookie, a.k.a. BooBooCat, a.k.a. GundisDoo, a.k.a. Twat (No, I'm not kitten!).

Cookie is an amazingly beautiful and lovely cat. That is provided none of the other cats are around and you're giving her your undivided attention. Once someone else comes on the scene and you so much as look at them, that wide eyed expression turns to a "I'll claw your eyes out bitch" squinty eyed glare. She doesn't understand why, if we have her, how there could possibly be a need for any other cats. She's requested several times that we dispose of the others. She's even provided us with detailed descriptions of ways how we could accomplish their removal. Alas, poor Cookie is just going to have to get used to the "dirty street mongrels" the "filthy commoners" as she refers to them, since it seems they're here to stay. I should point out that Cookie, not that she remembers or would even tell you if she did, was a rescue cat as well.

Should be fun once the baby arrives and it sinks in that it's going to be sticking around as well huh?

My dear readers in the Northeast (NYC and surrounding areas). I have a very special little friend that is currently residing across the street from me with her foster family but is looking to join a forever home. Her name is Joilet. She's just a precious and petite little kitten girl who at approx. 15 weeks old will just melt your heart.
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend Christmas Eve getting to know her while dining at her foster home. She's got a wonderful personality. While a little shy at first, after just a bit she then came over to me for some pets and playfulness. She's also very social with the other five cats in the house and would love to be with a family that has other cats for her to befriend.

Darling Joilet's advert has just gone up on Petfinder and I'd love nothing more than to hear that she's gone to a wonderful home. Please take a moment to look and to share this with anyone you know that may be looking to add a little more love to their home. Of course I should also mention she is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered

I was a gift to her on her birthday in 1998 (I must say that I am the best birthday present of all time!)

My Boy

Poor J-Kun, he was laying on his blankie (a hand towel on the bed) trying to settle down for a good nap. See, when you get to be his age (20 yrs. old) naps are an integral part of the day. See the black streak behind him? That's Lou (age 2) trying to foil his plans and engage him in play. Can you tell he's a touch annoyed?
