Rock Me!

My inner geology dork is screaming with excitement. Why? Well, If you've had your eye on the YSL Resort '10 collection you'll notice that Geode slice jewelry was a big focus.

If you don't have a YSL sized bank account then you might want to check out the designs by jeweler Jacquie Aiche. She specializes in rocks and minerals and her geode slice creation are just beautiful and certainly more wallet friendly than YSL.

I'm particularly fond of her drusy rings (the layer of tiny quartz crystals that form on a host stone. Often filling the cavity of the geodes).

I just love rocks, minerals. Stones don't necessarily have to be cut, faceted and polished in order to be beautiful. Nature is pretty spectacular just the way it is.

I love those rings! I would have never thought of a geode ring before, so thanks for sharing!

Oh mama - I got a geode slice necklace on clearance at Urban Outfitters (I think) a year or so ago and get compliments every time I wear it. This weekend I saw one on sale for $9.99 at The Limited and SHOULD have bought it, and saw some rings at a local boutique too. I MAY have to go in and pick one up. Loves them.
The end.

I'm so into rings right now. I love those. I think third from the bottom is my favorite.

I'm obsessing over Diamond in the Rough right now. I drool over them at Neiman's.

MerciBlahBlah- Holy Score!

Megan- I love those too!! Thing is, the main allure of the diamond is the refraction factor so I'd have a hard time paying that much for a rough stone.

For a smidgen of that price you could get a rough quartz and it'd look just the same.

*sigh*

Wow! Beautiful. I've seen the sliced necklaces, but never the rings...I love them!

I just stumbled across your blog and I love the cats. We just got two new kitties. The older two are quite disturbed by them and keep looking like "Dang, they're still here."

Have a great day!
