Juicy Gems

Photographer Guido Mocafico’s campaign for Bulgari brings us a feast of fruit and diamonds. Two things a women should never live without. How delicious!

One thing that's bothering me, and it has nothing to do with the campaign. Am I the only one thinking that the lobster claw clasp on the first diamond necklace looks super cheapskate-ish? Shouldn't a necklace of this caliber command a press down slip in clasp that had diamonds moutned on top and safety latches on both sides? Why skimp on the finishes?

I agree that clasp makes it look cheap.

So creative! And I concur on the lobster claw closure...real stones would deserve a bit more security.

The photography is fabulous but you are so right about that lobster clasp. What a cheap way to finish off a diamond necklace.
What is wrong with these Bvlgari people?

Yes, agreed. Things really are getting to be more and more cheaply made...I've been on a rampage about this ever since I read Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster. I want to dive into that picture with the pomegranate seeds, although that one with the brown banana is a little off-putting, no?

I'm just not loving this ad campaign. I think all the background fruitiness takes away from the jewelry...and the pomegranate seeds just look like a visceral mess.
