In 'No Shit Sherlock' News...

"New York tops a recent list of America's most expensive cities, with a measured cost of living surpassing that of Houston, Boston and Washington, D.C.

The culprit? High rent: $4,300 a month on average for a two-bedroom, unfurnished luxury apartment. The silver lining: That's down $200 from when the survey was taken in 2008."

Uh, yeah. And people wonder why I moved, and I lived in Westchester. (I do miss it almost every day though)

Score one for Houston for the mention. The cost of living here is extremely low in comparison to those other cities. But for me the trade off is that we have almost zero public transportation and half the cool-factor that NYC does. Boo.

my rent is 1050 a month for a 2 bedroom, 2 bath house with a guest house/motherinlaw suite that offers a bedroom and a bathroom. but i don't have new york to be in either. you pay for that divine city.

"Los Angeles comes in at second place. [...] The sprawling city is home to some of the nation's worst traffic, and unleaded gas at a relatively high 63 cents a liter helps raise transportation costs."

Are you FREAKING kidding me? $0.63/L?!? Here in Canada it's $0.90-$1.00/L (it was up to $1.40/L at its highest) and we're the place your oil comes from!
