Gratuitous Cute- Cookie

Cookie, a.k.a. BooBooCat, a.k.a. GundisDoo, a.k.a. Twat (No, I'm not kitten!).

Cookie is an amazingly beautiful and lovely cat. That is provided none of the other cats are around and you're giving her your undivided attention. Once someone else comes on the scene and you so much as look at them, that wide eyed expression turns to a "I'll claw your eyes out bitch" squinty eyed glare. She doesn't understand why, if we have her, how there could possibly be a need for any other cats. She's requested several times that we dispose of the others. She's even provided us with detailed descriptions of ways how we could accomplish their removal. Alas, poor Cookie is just going to have to get used to the "dirty street mongrels" the "filthy commoners" as she refers to them, since it seems they're here to stay. I should point out that Cookie, not that she remembers or would even tell you if she did, was a rescue cat as well.

Should be fun once the baby arrives and it sinks in that it's going to be sticking around as well huh?

Pray for us!

Hey just saw your post on another blog about having a rough pregnancy. I had a very rough pregnancy with my son now almost 2O months. There are some great tips about getting your pets ready for a new baby. My husband and I used to own a pet store-we did adoptions and rescue. You can get Cookie ready for the baby and less jealous. I would bring some things over to your friends houses that have babies and then bring them back to your house. Take a shirt that you have been wearing and let Cookie have it when you are in the hospital and after the baby is born. (Same thing works to put under the matress for your baby!) Gently pull on her tail, ears, and gently poke her so she gets used to what a lil one would do. There are a lot of websites out there that have great advice!

Anyhow...nice to "meet" you. I a new follower as of now. Pop on by and follow back if you would like.

Juliana- Great advice. Believe me, with 5 in residence we're sure doing our homework. She's the only one I'm going to be actively concerned about. Given the others personalities I'm sure they'll adjust pretty well.

Thank so much for stopping by. I'm heading over to your blog right now...

My cat and my kids are just now getting to be friends and my kids are 3.5 and 5yrs old.

My 3 yr old wanted a dog for Christmas but did not get one, (10 yr old cats can only adjust to so much) so she has taken it upon herself to "be in charge of" the cat. She is currently trying to teach it to jump through a hoop. Good entertainment when it is -10 zero.

Kristin that is hilarious!

Such a beautiful wide-eyed feline. Fleur de Lis and Cookie should get together and conspire.

Well, I didn't have to worry much about this. My furry ones were too lazy to care (never had one jump in the crib or anything). Murray was the one we dubbed "The Baby Protector" she would hover near the little one but never too close. Wiggy just stayed the hell away. I think Audrey was waaaay too loud for their liking so they just hid most of the time when she was up. Now that toddlerhood is here, it's a bit harder, Murray has had an ear grabbed and of course tails get pulled. I make sure she doesn't get too rough. It's hard and it really depends on the kitty and the kid. I just make sure that the cats have a place to go that's "theirs", if that makes sense. I wish I had more advice. :o)
