Listening To- Metro Station

Metro Station- Shake It

If you're diggin' this then check out Metro Station's My Space Page or their official website.

Gardening

At 144 ft. the lot our home sits on is, by "city standards" considered to be extra deep. I'm well aware that most of you looking at this are thinking 'that backyard, at best, is a glorified postage stamp.

Why am I pointing this out you ask? Well, this little postage stamp yard whooped my ass. Being that yesterday's weather was just glorious (66 and sunny) we seized the day and set about clearing out all the dead leaves, pruned away scraggly branches, and weeded. We wanted to get it all spruced up and ready for grilling season. Today I'm hurting. My legs, shoulders, back and arms ache. You know how the saying, "I used muscles I never knew I had"? Honestly, I knew I had them and I also knew I'd left them dormant too long. What I didn't know was just how much they'd revolt against me once I did decide to employ them for use again.

The reward for this hard work? A solid week of rain and cold temperatures. Thanks Mother Nature!

WHAT THE FUG?

There is a scourge that is threatening to take over our foreheads and more recently necks.
HEADBANDS!

No, not the kind that neatly pull your hair out of your eyes or finish off a chignon. We're talking full on Sheena Easton, Olivia Newton John sh*t. Surely you remember this look? You probably had a Yaffa block filled to the brim with all different colors and braid-widths to complement your look.

Some are attempting to bring them back with the help of some misguided trendies.

Exhibit A:

Mary Kate Olsen wore this headband from the Marc Jacobs' A/W 08 collection (Slightly off topic but, what's up with the 10 sizes too big schmata she's wearing??) She was warming us up for the horrors that follow.

Exhibit B:

Mischa Barton who admittedly has slid far down the en vogue scale has been seen running around in various forehead assaulting looks.

Exhibit C:

For the love of god!?!

To top it off they're also making them in the form of necklaces as seen in NY Magazines Shop.A.Matic Spring Trends where we find these beauties:

Rope Necklaces by Gabriel & Schwan

Pixie Market 100 Stanton St. , Lower East Side 212-253-0953

Padma Necklace by DANNIJO

You've Really Got a Hold On Me Collar Necklace by Lizzie Fortunato Jewels

JUST SAY NO!

Imagine how pissed off you'll be in 2 years looking at photos of yourself knowing you spent $108 for that neon silly string necklace!

I'll leave you to contemplate this vivid imagery...

RHNY: Sacked by Saks

Because I know you care...

From Page Six in today's New York Post:

An insider confirmed Saks has "no plans to re-sign" her, but denied that Bensimon's volatile relationship with her ex, Nicholas Stefanov (she was arrested last month for allegedly socking him in the face), had anything to do with it.

Poor Kellamity!

Priceless...

What on earth is going on over at the G20 that's got our President GigglesMcHappypants so smiley?

O.k...who cut the cheese?

Dreamy...

I know this is going to sound greedy but if you're out buying me that Hoorsenbuhs ring you may want to also pick up this Sara rose-cut diamond mosaic pendant necklace, large, oval, 24k gold pendant by Yossi Harari.

You have to admit they do look nice together.

Until then, I'll just have to add it to
my "When I'm a Rich Bitch" list.

Voyeurism

casaCARA is a fantastic blog that features real estate, architechture, interior design and gardens.

They run a feature called BROWNSTONE VOYEUR (a joint project with Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn). This is right up my alley since one, I love brownstones and two, don't we all love looking to see what the Jones' are doing in and to their homes?

I wanted to share with you today's feature. It's a gorgeous French farmhouse kitchen renovation in an 1870's Boerum Hill, Brooklyn home.

Go on, go look!

RHNY: What Is Up With These Broads?

Sins of the mother

I'm reading Page Six in The New York Post and they are running a story on Ramona's poor daughter Avery and how she's being shunned by the other little snots at Sacred Heart. The school even asked Ramona to take Avery off the show because they're embarrassed by her actions! Ramona, knowing what's best for her daughter declined.

The Real House-Blight of New York

Tucked down at the bottom of the Page Six Article is a blip about both Kelly Bensimon and The Count-less LuAnn putting their Hamptons homes on the market.

Of course, Your Mama at The Real Estalker never fails to tell it to you first and best. She already has the details up on her blog so I'm deferring to her to give you the scoop! Go!

Feeding America

Meg from Pigtown*Design and Easy and Elegant Life have joined creative and fundraising forces to create April Food Day, a one-day fundraiser to raise money and donations for food banks across America through Feeding America (formerly Second Harvest), a national food bank with 200 member banks across the country.

Did you know that...
  • One in eight Americans are at risk for hunger?
  • Four million Americans receive assistance from Feeding America each week?
  • Children who are hungry have slower emotional, social and educational development?
  • Millions of elderly Americans go to bed hungry every night?
  • A donation of just ONE DOLLAR will buy 10 pounds of food.

Please also take the time to click here to take the pledge to Dine In to Fight Childhood Hunger (It's free!!) and Stouffers will donate $5 to Feeding America on your behalf.

Thank you for your generosity!

Dreamy...

Holy Gorgeousness!

I've admired Robert Keith's Hoorsenbuhs Collection for a little while now. This 22k blackened yellow gold ring set with white diamonds takes the cake.

I've officially added it to my "When I'm a Rich Bitch" list.

If by chance anyone out there wants to buy it for me it's can be found at Barney's for a mere 7K.

Comedy Crush- Jim Gaffigan

Last night we watched Jim Gaffigan's new stand-up special King Baby on Comedy Central. We laughed so hard it was painful.

If you need to LOL or ROTFLMFAO I would advise you to check out this clip on YouTube about Laziness*.
