RHNY: Weekly Informercial

Is it me or are you getting a little sick of these product pushing whores and the infomercial that this series has become. I was so annoyed I wasn't even going to talk about them at all this week. Then I figured I would just recap the episode as I remembered seeing it:

We start things off this week with a party Jill holds at Zarin Fabrics for the launch of Zarin Fabrics new Eco-Friendly fabric line.

Ramoaner is launching a skincare line, tru renewal so she meets with the logo designers to look over the packaging and labels they've worked on. She then holds a cocktail party to show off her newest creation tru renewal.

Bethenny is in Connecticut to promote her Bethenny Bakes Vegan Cupcakes, Cookies and Muffins. Lockjaw couldn't pay people to take them. She also manages makes mention of her book Naturally Thin more than a few times throughout the episode.

The countless meets with her co-writer for Class with the Countess.

Kelly is meeting with the co-designer to go over her new Jewelry Line (pronounced: Jewry). The designed all seem to be based upon owls ?!). I'm assuming it's because owls are like rully wise and she's like rully wise because she went to Columbia, written three books, started two magazines, birthed two children, is the ambassador for wool and in her free time run a marathon for charity ! But I digress.

Lastly, Simon takes Alex out and buys her beautiful earrings for her birthday. He then pitches a total temper-tantrum sh*t fit (now we know where France-wah gets it from) when the driver makes a fatal error and "RUINING EVERYTHING! THE SURPRISE IS RUINED!" by driving directly to their hovel of a home instead of going back around out Manhattan through Queens to get to Brooklyn. When they do arrive the beasties are waiting to celebrate Mommies Birthday with her over cupcakes (real yummy looking sugary ones not that cardboard, sawdust, vegan crap Bethenny's shoving down people's gullets). So, despite Simon's time out worthy, inappropriate behavior Team Silex is still my favorite so far this season (I say "still" because I know they're doing that parenting book and they haven't yet started pimping it in earnest).

MacBook Wheel

ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL!

Name Those Parents...

We are the proud parents of a celebrity, who as it happens, got married to another celebrity.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention we have another famous child. Well...they kinda sorta are. O.k...let's just say they're trying.

Both of them get their good looks from their absolutely ravishing mother.

Can you guess who they are? No?

If you're done guessing you can click on either of our gorgeous mugs to find out.

Kell On Earth

Oh happy Day! My favorite person on The Hills and the woman behind the Fashion PR Firm People's Revolution is getting her due.

Bravo TV is giving Kelly Cutrone her own series "Kell On Earth" they describe it as...

"Kelly Cutrone has been called one of the "coolest, scariest and New York-iest people ever" and, judging from her frank demeanor and fashion world credibility, it's easy to see why. Bravo takes a no-holds-barred look into the life of one of America's most legitimate tastemakers as she balances running her wildly successful fashion PR company, People's Revolution, with being a single mother and one of New York's most notable women about town."

I love Kelly. She's the reason I continue to tune in to The Hills. This week, Kelly reluctantly decides to hire Lauren's friend Stephanie after an interview she descibed as "The interview was such a folly she could turn out to be a genius". She then turns right around and says to Lauren, "If she f*cks up you're going to be the one to fire her, cause I'm not going to do it. So if it doesn't work out you can nix her. O.k.? You may want to kiss her on the cheek but I'd put a gun to her back and make sure she stands up straight".

Words to live by.

No schedule has been put out yet but I for one can't wait for this show to air!

The Schinasi Mansion

Built during the American Renaissance and designed by architect William Burnet Tuthill (of Carnegie Hall fame) The Schinasi Mansion is the only private freestanding homes left in Manhattan. Lucky for us it's on the market so we get to step inside and indulge in some exquisite real estate porn.

Enjoy...

In Townhouse News...

According to the NY Post it looks like Ester a.k.a. Madonna is scooping up another property in NYC. Nope, not in some luxury condo building. It's a gorgeous 4 story Georgian Townhouse replete with a private garage. Seems Madonna can't shake London and is looking to live in something with that "across the pond" vibe. My favorite part of the article...

"When Mayor Bloomberg was asked today whether he'd send Madonna a thank you note for buying a new place - a boost to the city's sagging revenues - he said, "No. But we do plan to send her a bill."

Update- Here's the complete listing with interior photos and detailed floorplans from Sotheby's. The listing states...

"Reminiscent of a London townhouse, this 26-room classic Georgian residence is notable for its extraordinary 57-foot width, making it one of the widest houses on the Upper East side..."

They had her at London.

Diggin' It...

I'm not really a fan of costume jewelry. I'd rather save up for the real deal instead of tossing good money out the window on something that's going to tarnish and get junky. However, I've been know to make exceptions for the exceptional. Particularly when they're by Erickson Beamon for Target.

I could so see myself rocking this 36" Red Seed Bead Lobster Pendant . My inner drag queen loves giant statement pieces and this fits the bill. Leave to Erickson Beamon to put in the attention to detail I look for like the articulation in the joints and the big crystal eyes all for just $39 bucks.

Score!

It's funny cause I say so...

What does it say about me that this makes me laugh?

Love...

One of my all time favorite stores is Fishs Eddy. Back in the day you'd go in and find shelves and bins loaded with dinnerware, serverware and glassware. Most bearing the name or logo of a defunct restaurant, diner or hotel.

The shopkeepers (seen left) had acquired these items while driving through the mid west looking for unusual “finds”. They came across an old barn filled with endless stacks of the dishware. The barn had been in a terrible fire and was in bad shape… yet the dishes were surprisingly intact. So they purchased the contents and carted it all back to NYC. Where I would help them recoup that money by buying more than my fair share of these items.

Fishs Eddy has evolved and changed over the last 20 years. Gone are the old diner and hotel plates. I imagine that was due in large part to a new "online auction website" that had emerged, making the possibility of stumbling upon barns full of treasures for purchase slim to none. Don't despair! The good news is now they carry their own playfully unique and well crafted signature lines.

These days, my cupboards runneth over so I'm relegated to window (monitor?) shopping only. So maybe, if you're inspired enough to purchase something to add to your table you can send me a picture? This way I can get a vicarious thrill. No pressure, it's just a thought. Some of my favorites are below.

Floorplan Dinnerware

"Whether it's a penthouse, a three bedroom, or a studio...why rent when you can own? The best thing about this pattern; no board approval needed!"

"Fugettabout it! Our Brooklyn pattern is so awesome; even Uncle Vinnie will change the dinner conversation from parole to plates!"

"Urban dishware that includes Staten Island, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and The Bronx. In asphalt gray and safety orange; this is New York City in its entirety!"

Memo

"Didn't you get the memo? Paper has a whole new composition! Writing tablet cheese trays, glasses, coffee mugs and a tote everyone will take note!"

Happy Easter

Dreamy...

I don't know about you, but to me nothing screams Spring has arrived quite like bright grass green. So, I thought that this stunning 6.20ct. Unheated Green Tourmaline set in platinum with diamonds would look lovely in my Easter Basket.

I've officially added it to my "When I'm a Rich Bitch" list.

If you're so inclined you can buy it for me at JTV for $9.6K (Believe it or not it really is a steal at that price) .
