In Memorium- John Joseph Houghtaling
MIAMI (AP) -- John Joseph Houghtaling the inventor of the ''Magic Fingers Vibrating Bed,'' which brought weary travelers 15 minutes of ''tingling relaxation and ease'' for a quarter in hotel rooms across America during its heyday as a pop culture icon in the 1960s and '70s died Wednesday at his home in Fort Pierce.
Tinkering in the basement of his New Jersey home, Houghtaling invented the ''Magic Fingers'' machine in 1958. ''Put in a quarter, turn out the light, Magic Fingers makes ya feel all right,'' Jimmy Buffett sang in ''This Hotel Room.''
You know, I just can't help but wonder if they're going to retrofit his coffin with one. You think?

Summer Blogging- Tag, I'm It!
I was tagged by the lovely Arlynn at Fleur-De-licious to participate in the Summer Blog Tag where I have to name my top 5 favorite things about summer. First let me say I'm honored to have been tagged by her but, I need to apologize for taking so long to put this post together. What can I say? I'm a slow poke!
I present, I no particular order, my Top 5 Summer Fun Things:
I present, I no particular order, my Top 5 Summer Fun Things:
- Coney Island- Sun, Sand, Surf, Rides, Nathan's Famous Hotdogs & History.
- Grilling- Arlynn, you'll be disappointed to know that we use a gas grill. I know, this is considered cheating by the purists but I want a special dispensation. Prior to this past summer we'd been serial apartment dwellers with no prior grilling knowledge whatsoever. Baby steps...
- Our backyard & wine- I know, technically this is two things but stick with me and you'll see how they go hand in hand. First, we love having outdoor space (remember- former Apt. dwellers). Having a backyard, even a small one like ours really is a blessing. So, after a long day we love nothing more than to grab a bottle of wine, two glasses and go sit out in the backyard drink the vino and grin like big dopes over how happy we are to have the yard. I know this must sound so silly to most of you but you can't imagine the joy it brings. Plus it's where we grill (see above).
- The sun and lots of it!- I always hate the winter months when you leave work and it's already dark out. I don't know about you but I just want to get home, eat dinner and crawl into bed. During the summer it's totally different. You get home, go out back (see above) or on the front stoop chatting with neighbors then you go inside whip up something fast and dirty, watch some TV and THEN go to bed. You just feel more alive.
- Rum Raisin Ice Cream- No explanation necessary. It's just good stuff.

So Pretty...
RHNJ- Beauty, Glamour & Fitness Jersey Style
So every other person and their cousin did some great recaps about "The Last Supper". I watched along with the rest of you enjoying every delicious barb thrown but frankly, I didn't have it in me to rehash it. I will say this, Chris Manzo is my hero. Muah!
I did stumble upon this. W Magazine's online blog did a piece, The Unreal Housewives of New Jersey about the beauty and fitness regimes of the RHNJ gals.
They interviewed Danielle's Eyebrows , Dina's Mane & Caroline's "G's". Sadly, neither Jacqueline's Filled Lips nor Teresa's Hairline & New Bubbies were available, BOO!

(Graffiti?) Artist: Bansky
Little is known for certain about Banksy. He started painting graffiti in his hometown of Bristol, England, in the 1990s. Since then, his trademark stenciled murals and free-form creations have adorned walls and invaded public spaces across Europe and from San Francisco to Sydney.
Banksy's art is often pegged as anti-capitalist or anti-establishment. He specializes in a strange brand of self-promotion: he'll sell six-figure creations and then sermonize on the evils of consumerism. In April, the auction house Bonham's sold his Space and Bird, a spray-painting on steel, for almost $600,000, and recently a set of 10 of his works went for more than $1 million.
