I wanted so badly to put together a post ranting about how disgusted I was with Perez Hilton and his behavior.

Luckily, I don't have to (which is quite the relief because let's face it I'm not exactly a great wordsmith) because Hamilton Nolan at Gawker pretty much sums up my thoughts on the entire incident here.

For those of you that didn't already hear the statement that Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) released, which Hamilton refers to, it reads as follows:

"We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story."

"For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."

Are You A Sinner or Saint?

The Lipstick Queen, Poppy King started her own lipstick brand in 1992 in Melbourne Australia. She had just turned 18 and couldn't find any lipsticks she liked. She wanted lipsticks that gave her the look of the 1940’s- rich, opaque and filled with pigment. Everything was thin, slimy and too greasy feeling. There were no deep colors or browns. Most reds went pink. So, on a whim she found manufacturers to mix up some lipsticks, a business partner and the nerve to approach a few stores. It became a run away success!

I have been a devotee of the opaque Sinner Red since it's debut. I have yet to find a comparable product that offers the saturation of color and rich texture. If you prefer a lighter look on your lips you can try the Saints collection. How beautiful is the packaging? Stunner.

The difference? The Saints are sheer and have only 10% pigment in them to give you a hint of the color whereas the Sinners are 90% pigment and opaque in texture.

Although she sells them directly through her website they are frequently sold out. I recommend picking them up in store or online at Barneys New York.

Kittens!

We have two new guests at The Townhouse (well, technically in the backyard).

Meet Zorro and Max(ine), they are the offspring of the same cat that gave us our 3 little ones. We've been waiting patiently while they ween off nursing from their momma. This past week she's started calling them over to eat the food we put out for her. So now two things can happen, one we can get these little mews adopted and two, we can capture and get her spayed. As much as we love to watch these kittens enough is enough. She really needs to stop. We've tried to capture her in the past to no avail. This time we plan on succeeding before she slips away again only to return with more cuteness.

In the meanwhile, enjoy the adorableness of these two (It's hard to tell in the picture but they are so tiny)...

Zorro (or Zorra?)
Could you die? That mask! How about the white stripe going down between the eyes look familiar (see my Lou on the right)? This little one moves so fast. It's hard to get a picture of her. This is also why we're not sure if it's a boy or girl yet.

Max or Maxine (yet to be determined with certainty)
We're almost positive 99% it's a girl. Don't let the sweet face fool ya, she's a feisty one. She just loves to romp and play. She's also got some great colors hidden under the gray. Her eyes are a GORGEOUS toffee color.

I know, they're hard to resist huh? You'd just love to wake up to these little mugs every day right? Well, if you live in the NYC or surrounding area and want to adopt these ridiculously adorable little balls of joy I'd be happy to let you. I can't take on any more.

If you have any interest or know anyone who does please let me know.

What's For Dinner?

Some days I have no inspiration. I have looked through the pantry, fridge and freezer. All of which are fully stocked. I just can't decide what to make for dinner. Everything just seems so 'been there done that'.

So tell me, what are you having?

Listening To- Marsheaux

I was over at one of my must see blogs CREATE which is put together by the lovely and talented Leigh, who you'll remember from this post about her recent art showing 'Lady' at Charles Nolan in NYC. She did a post that included this video and I liked it so much I'm shamelessly swiping it for my blog.

MARSHEAUX- Hanging On

Curiouser and Curiouser!

Disney has released the first promotional photos from Tim Burton’s upcoming 3-D version of Alice in Wonderland.

Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter (who else?), Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, and Anne Hathaway as the White Queen.

The cast also includes Mia Wasikowska (In Treatment) as Alice, plus Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts, Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat, Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit, Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar, Timothy Spall as The Bloodhound, and more.

It's set to hits theaters on March 5th 2010. Uh, just how am I going to wait that long?!

You should also hop on over (pun intended) to USA Today, they have three interactive pieces of concept art for the film like the one pictured below.

Feeling Horny...

I was never a big fan of the whole having antlers mounted on the wall craze. Unless you're an actual hunter I think they just look silly.

However, there's always the exception and this is it for me.

Happy Father's Day

Dad,

You're my rock. Even though you had two little girly girls you showed us that anything was possible. You taught us how to...
move mountains,

tackle any obstacles standing in our way,

build something from nothing,

the importance of taking time out for goofy fun,

but most of all you showed us love. Lot's and lot's of love
(even on Christmas morning with zero sleep after staying up all night to put together the toys "Santa" got us)!

Dad, I Love You!
